Plumber - RAC Heating & Plumbing

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Plumber to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various plumbing systems, including residential, commercial, and industrial systems. The Plumber should be able to troubleshoot issues effectively and ensure that all work is up to code and completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
  • Diagnose plumbing problems, including leaks, blockages, and mechanical malfunctions, and implement effective solutions.
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures.
  • Test plumbing systems for leaks and other issues, ensuring proper function and code compliance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on plumbing systems and keep accurate maintenance records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions and concerns, explaining repairs, and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with contractors, electricians, and other professionals on larger projects as needed.
  • Keep up-to-date with local plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained.

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning systems installation and maintenance.

Certifications: Relevant certifications, such as HVAC Technician Certification, CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) certification, or equivalent licenses as required by state or country.

 

Skills and Competencies

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program or vocational training preferred.
  • Valid plumbing license (if required by the local/state government).
  • Proven experience as a plumber in a residential, commercial, or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, tools, and techniques.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
  • Physical ability to work in confined spaces, lift heavy objects, and perform manual labour for extended periods.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.

Working Conditions

  • Environment: Work may be conducted indoors or outdoors, sometimes in extreme weather conditions.
  • Physical Demands: Requires physical stamina to lift heavy equipment, climb, crouch, and work in confined spaces.
  • Work Hours: May include regular, overtime, and on-call hours, particularly during emergency repairs or seasonal peaks.

Salary:  39,000

 

Working Hours: 37.5hrs a week.
